‘Ek Ladki Ko..’ Box Office Collection Day 1: Sonam Kapoor & Rajkummar Rao’s film MINTS Rs 3.30 cr

New Delhi: Sonam Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’, which hit the silver screens on February 1, has opened on a positive note at the box office. The film co-starring Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla received good reviews from the critics and fans. The Shelly Chopra Dhar directorial, which deals with same sex relationship, minted Rs 3.30 crore on its opening day. Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’s box office collection on Twitter. He mentioned that the film picked up pace at selected urban centres in the evening shows. ‘’#EkLadkiKoDekhaTohAisaLaga had a lacklustre start, but picked up at select urban centres towards evening... Growth on Day 2 and Day 3 essential for a respectable weekend total... Fri ₹ 3.30 cr [1500 screens]. India biz,’’ Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site. ‘Ek Ladki’, which released across 1500 screens in India, faced stiff competition from Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. The film, which came with the tagline of ‘the most unexpected romance of the year’, focused on the sensitive issue of homosexuality and portrayed an unconventional love story on the silver screen. Bollywood celebs including Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar and Farah Khan have applauded the makers and the actors for pushing the boundaries. ALSO - 'Ek Ladki...'
