Dunki Advance Bookings: Shah Rukh Khan Film Sells 1.4 Lakh Tickets Worth Rs. 5 Cr For Opening Day

Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu starrer 'Dunki' has created a massiz buzz a week before release especially after advance bookings for the film opened.

New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu starrer 'Dunki' has created a massiz buzz a week before release especially after advance bookings for the film opened. The film has sold some 1,44,186 tickets for some 6394 shows for the opening day. Rajkummar Hirani's 'Dunki' will be released on December 21. The figures of Dunki advnace bookings for day amounts to Rs. 4.45 cr in India, a Sacnilk.com report said.

According to the report, the numbers are only for 'Dunki' Hindi 2D format. The Rajkummar Hirani film will clash with Prabhas-starrer 'Salaar: Cearefire' which will be released a day later, on December 22. 

'Salaar', as per Sacnilk.com has sold 16000 tickets worth Rs. 55 lakhs for the Hindi version. The overall pre-sales is said to be around Rs. 3 cr after sale of 125.8K with the advance bookings for Telugu shows, which are yet open.

South film critic and trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted on Sunday night, "Despite not being a Mass Action movie, #SRK 's #Dunki has sold 100K tickets in advance already.”

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is working with Rajkummar Hirani for the first time in 'Dunki'. The collaboration between the two was much-awaited by all. 

'Dunki' also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover and others in key roles.

'Dunki' revolves around the issue of illegal migration to other countries. Like other Rajkummar Hirani films, ‘Dunki’ will talk about a socially-prevelant phenomenon and the recpurcessions the same can have. 

As from the teaser material out there, it is clear that ‘Dunki’ is based in Punjab and SRK plays someone wanting to migrate to London witha  group of friends who have similar dreams.

The soundtrack of 'Dunki' has been composed by Pritam while Aman Pant has worked on the background score.  C. K. Muraleedharan, Manush Nandan and Amit Roy handled the cinematography of the film.
