Ananya Panday Addresses Age Gap With Ayushmann Khurrana In Dream Girl 2, Says It Has 'Always Existed In Cinema'

New Delhi: The 'Dream Girl' 2 trailer has created quite some uproar and excitement among fans on release. Ayushmann Khurrana will be paired with Ananya Panday for the first time in this comedy drama. Recently, at the trailer launch, where Ananya was present with Ayushmann, the actor addressed the age gap question.
During the trailer launch, the 24-year-old was asked about the significant age difference between herself and the 38-year-old Ayushmann to which she said that it does not concern her as the age gap has always existed in cinema. She also emphasised that viewers should not focus on the age difference while watching the film, an ETimes report said.
“I don’t think this is today’s issue. The age difference has always existed. People should not fixate on age while watching the film. If they are preoccupied with this factor, then it becomes a problem. As long as two actors are suitable for their respective roles, it’s perfectly acceptable,” Ananya said at the event.
Speaking at the 'Dream Girl 2' trailer launch, Ayshmann also praised Karan Johar's 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani' and its performance at the box office reinstating that the audiences have accepted films which challenge stereotypes.
Ananya Panday made her debut in Karan Johar backed Dharma Production film 'Student of the Year 2' alongside Tara Sutaria and Tiger Shroff. She later went on to star in 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' and Maqbool Khan's 'Khaali Peeli' with Ishaan Khatter. Ananya also starred in 'Liger' alongside Vijay Deverakonda and the film bombed at the box office.
Most recently, she was seen in the critically acclaimed Shakun Batra directorial 'Gehraiyaan' alongside Siddhanth Chaturvedi and Deepika Padukone.
Meanwhile, 'Dream Girl 2' is the second installment of 'Dream Girl' and stars Asrani, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Abhishek Banerjee, Manjot Singh and Vijay Raaz. Such a stellar cast known for their comic performances will be accompanied by Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday.
