Dream Girl 2 Advance Bookings: Ayushmann Khurrana Film Sells More Than 26K Tickets
Taran Adarsh shared that almost 26,550 tickets have been sold in multiplex chains until Thursday 10:30 am. The figure has naturally increased since then.
New Delhi: Ayushmann Khurrana, Ananya Panday starrer 'Dream Girl 2' is all set to release on August 25, 2023. As advance bookings began for the film, movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the advance bookings collections of 'Dream Girl 2'. Taran Adarsh shared that almost 26,550 tickets have been sold in multiplex chains until Thursday 10:30 am. The figure has naturally increased since then.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Taran Adarsh wrote, "#DreamGirl2 advance booking status for *DAY 1* at *national chains*… Till Thursday, 10.30 am.⭐️ #PVR: 14,150⭐️ #INOX: 6,300⭐️ #Cinepolis: 6,100⭐️ Total: 26,550 tickets sold."
As per several trade analyst sites and reports, 'Dream Girl 2' is likely to open at Rs. 9-10 crores. If the said figure is achieved, 'Dream Girl 2' will become Ayushmann Khurrana's biggest opening in the post-pandemic scenario.
Before the pandemic, three of his films opened in the same bracket in a row. These also included 'Dream Girl' the first film from the franchise( 2019) which opened at Rs. 10.05 crores.
'Dream Girl' was followed by Amar Kaushik's social comedy 'Bala' that year which opened at Rs. 10.15 crores, which also happens to be Ayushmann's biggest opening till date,
'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' opened at Rs. 9.55 crores at the box office, Ayushmann's third highest opening day collection for a film.
In post pandemic times, Ayushmann Khurrana's films have not been doing so well. His different choice of roles and films could be the reason why. In 2012, Ayushmann Khurrana starred in the 2021 rom-com 'Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui' which collected only Rs. 3.75 crores. In 202, Ayushmann Khurran reunited with Anubhav Sinha after 'Article 15' for 'Anek' which opened at a dismal Rs. 1.77 crores.
Later in 2022, Ayushmann Khurrana was seen in Anubhuti Kashyap's social comedy Doctor G ( ₹3.87 crore), and Anirudh Iyer's An Action Hero ( ₹1.31 crore), his lowest opening in recent memory.
'An Action Hero' amassed appreciation and fan base upon release on Netflix India.
Meanwhile, Ayushmann's upcoming release 'Dream Girl 2' stars Ananya Panday, Vijay Raaz, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Manjot Singh, Annu Kapoor, Jeetendra and more. The supporting cast is a huge plus in the upcoming ensemble and fans are excited for the big comedy ride.
