New Delhi: After the ‘drug angle’ emerged during the ongoing investigation of the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, people have been calling out names from the industry. Especially after reports came out about Rhea Chakraborty naming Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and others consuming drugs with her during her interrogation by the NCB, many people from inside the industry also started slamming the industry. Recently, Pooja Bhatt raised a question about the people living at 'the ultimate edge of society'.

Taking to her Twitter, Alia Bhatt’s sister Pooja Bhatt questioned the people if anyone cares about the people who live at the ultimate fringe of the society and who consume drugs just to make the pain of living go away. She further went on to question if anyone is interested in the rehabilitation of the individuals who are too broken to chase their dreams but even amid these situations, manage to chase intoxicants in much poverty.
Her tweet read, “Does anyone care about people who live on the ultimate fringe of society,who use drugs to make the pain of living go away? The ones who are too battered & broken to chase dreams but chase substances amidst much poverty & squalor? Anyone interested in their rehabilitation?”
In another tweet, she explained that COVID-19 is going to take away jobs of millions which will eventually escalate the rising cases of depression. She concluded her tweet by saying that people need to ‘help each other heal and not vilify’.
Pooja Bhatt’s tweet read, “And countless others.. from various walks of life. COVID-19 is going to leave millions of people unemployed. The pandemic has already played havoc. Depression is on the rise.People will turn to intoxicants to cope with the sheer ordeal of living.We need to help each other heal not vilify.”
Pooja Bhatt is an actress turned director-producer. ‘Jism 2’ was her last directorial. Pooja produced the film ‘Cabaret’, which released in 2019.
