Mumbai: On the occasion of Ranveer Singh’s birthday today (July 6), filmmaker Karan Johar announced his next directorial venture ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. This upcoming KJo drama will star Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. The makers revealed the title of the film with a small introduction video earlier today.

Now, according to the latest update shared by the makers, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ will also feature the legendary actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles. Karan Johar shared another video where Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s voice-over introduces these legendary stars to the audience and also gives a glimpse of their characters.

While sharing the video, Karan Johar tweeted, “Meet the legendary stars of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. We are all thrilled to work with these veteran legends and I cannot wait to be on set with them!  #RockyAurRaniKiPremKahani #RRKPK”.

In another tweet, he shared his feelings about casting this brilliant ensemble cast in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ and wrote, “This ensemble cast makes this story even closer to my heart. Meet my all time favourite actors and the extraordinary family of Rocky and Rani! Coming to your screens in 2022!”

Earlier today, while announcing his next directorial Karan Johar tweeted, “Thrilled to get behind the lens with my favourite people in front of it! Presenting Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, headlined by none other than Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan & Sumit Roy.”

‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ will hit the screens in 2022. Fans are excited to watch the on-screen pair of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt after the duo spilled magic with their striking chemistry in ‘Gully Boy’.
