Delhi Violence: Richa Chadha, Javed Akhtar & Other Celebs Condemn Clashes In Northeast Region

Several localities, including Chand Bagh, Bhajanpura, Maujpur-Babarpur, and Jaffrabad witnessed unprecedented violence as pro and anti-CAA protesters clashed in which 17 persons are confirmed dead.

New Delhi: Popular Bollywood celebrities including Javed Akhtar, Swara Bhasker, Anubhav Sinha, Richa Chadha, Esha Gupta, HansaHansa;l Mehta among others have reacted on the violence in Delhi's northeast region. Several localities, including Chand Bagh, Bhajanpura, Maujpur-Babarpur, and Jaffrabad witnessed unprecedented violence on Monday and Tuesday as pro and anti-CAA protesters clashed in which 17 persons are confirmed dead. Post which, prohibitory orders under Section 144 were imposed in these areas which will continue till further notice. The celebrities took to their social media accounts and expressed their concern after 17 people, including a cop, lost their lives and around 200 people got injured due to violence during protests. Take a look at few celeb reactions on the violence in national capital below: Delhi Violence: Richa Chadha, Javed Akhtar & Other Celebs Condemn Clashes In Northeast Region (Twitter) ' Delhi Police Special Commissioner (Crime) Satish Golcha late on Tuesday night said that protesters have cleared out at Jaffrabad Metro station and Maujpur Chowk is clear as well and that the situation is under control. Meanwhile, police have put barricades and sealed all the roads that lead to Ghaziabad from northeast Delhi. All the schools in violence-affected north-east Delhi will remain closed on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Tuesday. (with inputs from ANI)
