New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has brought the world to a standstill, forcing the people to stay locked inside their houses. The COVID-19 outbreak has severely affected the lower section of the society including daily wage earners. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has come forward to extend support to the needy people amid the Coronavirus lockdown in the country. The ‘Dabangg 3’ actor has launched a new initiative ‘Being Haangryy’ to provide food supplies to the needy people in Mumbai.

Salman, who had earlier transferred money to the accounts of daily wage workers of the film industry, introduced ‘Being Haangryy’ food trucks to help the people amid the tough times.

A Twitter user shared a video of the food truck, thanking Salman for his noble work. The tweet read, “Thank you @Beingsalmankhan Bhai for being there and silently doing something which is needed, service to mankind is service to the almighty!!! Jai Ho!!! I shall surely try and do my bit following the lockdown norms and request our Fanclub family to practice the same #BeingHaangryy.”

Salman Khan’s manager Jordy Patel, while talking to ABP News’ correspondent Ravi Jain, said that ‘Being Haangryy’ trucks are disturbing food items to the needy.

“During the shoot of Radhe, two food trucks were being used to make healthy and nutritious food for the people in the unit. The same two food trucks have now been deployed to distribute ration to the poor,” Patel exclusively told ABP News.

“The food trucks have distributed ration in areas like Khar, Santacruz, Bandra in the past three-four days. Every packet of ration contains basic food items like lentils, rice, flour and salt. We have distributed about 2500 to 3000 packets among the people,” he further said.
