Boman Irani's Mother Jerbanoo Passes Away, Actor Says 'She Could Fact-Check Wikipedia & IMDb In A Flash'
Bollywood actor Boman Irani's mother died at the age of 94. He penned an emotional post on Instagram to express grief over her demise.
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Bomnan Irani’s mother Jerbano passed away on Wednesday (June 9) morning. She was 94. The ‘3 Idiots’ actor said that his mom played the role of both mother and father to him since she was 32.
Boman penned a long post to mourn his mother’s demise, calling her a ‘star’. Irani revealed that she could fact-check Wikipedia and IMDb 'in a flash'. He wrote, "Mother Irani passed away peacefully in her sleep early this morning. Jer was 94. She played the role of both mother and father to me,since she was 32. What a spirit she was. Filled with funny stories that only she could tell. The longest arm that always dug deep into her pockets,even when there wasn’t much there. When she sent me to the movies, she made sure all the compound kids came with me. ‘Don’t forget the popcorn’ she would say."
The 'PK' star added that his mother loved her songs and food and always reminded him to 'make people happy'.
"She loved her food and her songs and she could fact-check Wikipedia and IMDb in a flash. Sharp, sharp, sharp, till the very end. She always said ‘“You are not an actor for people to praise you. You are an actor only so you can make people smile.” “Make people happy” She said. Last night she asked for Malai Kulfi and some mango. She could have asked for the moon and the stars if she wished. She was, and always will be.......A Star," Boman wrote on Instagram while sharing a photo of his mother.
Several tinsel town celebs including Riteish Deshmukh, Dia Mirza, Mouni Roy offered condolence to Boman and his family.

On the professional front, Boman will be next seen in Kabir Khan's '83'. The sports drama, which is based on India's 1983 Cricket World Cup victory, was slated to hit the silver screens in June 2020. However, it couldn't release due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Boman also has Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn starrer 'Mayday' in his kitty.
