New Delhi: Moviegoers are getting ready for a fierce box office war on November 1, as Kartik Aaryan's ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ and Ajay Devgn's star-studded ‘Singham Again’ go head-to-head. Despite the release of two major films, advance booking data indicates that ticket sales for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ are performing strongly. The horror-comedy, directed by Anees Bazmee, stars Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Rajpal Yadav.
So far, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ has grossed Rs 12.83 lakh, with 4,420 tickets sold via advance reservations (as reported by Scanilk). With 100 shows sold in the Delhi NCR region and Rs 1.8 lakh in advance, the film is consistently doing well in major metropolitan cities. Next in line is Mumbai with 2.08 lakh from 72 screens, followed by Ahmedabad with 61,000 from 101 shows.
Theatres in major cities like Mumbai and Delhi are now listed on internet ticketing sites. Although PVR-INOX and Cinepolis, two national movie chains, have not yet started advance sales for their performances, many non-national theatres have.
‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ Vs ‘Singham Again’
Predicting which film will top the box office on its first day is tough due to the fact that ‘Singham Again’ has not opened advance bookings yet and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ has had a solid start.
Recently, trade expert Taran Adarsh posted on X (formerly Twitter) about the continuing screen allocation controversy. He wrote, "Genuinely hope the ongoing tussle [screen *and* show allocation] gets resolved soon... No solution in sight yet.”
When comparing the budgets of the two films, there is a clear difference. Both films are part of popular series, but 'Singham Again' has a larger cast, budget, and overall production value. Given that it was expected that the Kartik starrer would lose the huge showdown with Singham Again, the advance booking data has given 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' a little edge.
