Badshah Records His Statement In Fake Social Media Followers Scam, Mumbai Police To Probe Rapper Again On Friday

The Crime Intelligence Unit has prepared a list of 238 questions which rapper Badshah will have to answer on Friday (August 7).

New Delhi: Popular rapper Badshah recorded his statement on Thursday (August 6) with Mumbai Police in connection with fake social media followers case. The ‘Genda Phool’ hit-maker was questioned for four hours by the officers of the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police.  ABP News has received exclusive information that the rapper has been called again for interrogation on Friday (August 7) at 12pm. He has been asked to report at 12pm at the police station. Badshah’s official Instagram account @badboyshah has witnessed a big increase in the number of followers and hence he is being investigated. Badshah, who has several hits to his credit including ‘Taarefan’ and ‘DJ Wale Babu’, was summoned by the Mumbai Police in connection with a case relating to fake followers on social media. The rapper was asked to appear on August 3 after his Instagram handle figured in the investigation by the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU). However, Badshah couldn’t record his statement on the said date after which he was asked to appear on Thursday (August 6). Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, who is better known by his stage name Badshah, recently his last single 'Bahut Tej' in March 2020. Last month, Crime Intelligence Unit busted a racket being run where fake followers and views were being bought by several celebs. which is in violation of the Information Technology Act. The matter came into light after singer Bhoomi Trivedi registered a complaint with the police about a fake Instagram account, which she found on social media. The investigation by the officials led them to a business based on identity theft. According to reports, the crime branch may also issue summons to Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in the case. In their investigation so far, Mumbai Police officials have found that a few Bollywood stars, sports persons and as many as 176 high profile people have allegedly paid to get fake followers on social media.
