Watch: Ayushmann Khurrana Sings 'Chookar Mere Mann Ko' On Kishore Kumar's Birth Anniversary, Calls Him 'Immortal Artist'

Ayushmann Khurrana paid a musical tribute to his 'inspiration' Kishore Kumar on his 92nd birth anniversary.

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana paid a tribute to late veteran singer Kishore Kumar on his 92nd birth anniversary on Wednesday (August 4). The ‘Dream Girl’ actor, who considers Kishore Kumar his inspiration, crooned his evergreen song ‘Chookar Mere Man Ko’ and shared a video for the fans on Instagram.  

The ‘Vicky Donor’ star penned a heartfelt message for his idol while posting the video on social media. He also hummed the title track of ‘Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’, leaving the fans awestruck. 

Ayushmann said that he didn’t sleep during night but managed to record the song early in the morning. The ‘Bala’ star, who is currently busy shooting for ‘Doctor G’ in Bhopal, called Kishore Kumar an ‘immortal artist’.  

“Happy birthday Kishor da! You don’t sleep the entire night and then record this early in the morning. And you don’t get sleep coz it’s Kishor da’s birthday. And I’m in his state MP! Bhopal is treating me well. Khandwa, his birthplace is just two hours away from here. And pls welcome @akshayvarma04, my musician friend, who trained me with the piano in Andhadhun. And now he’s training me with the dialect for Doctor G! As of now “Tu jo kahe jeewan bhar tere liye main gaaoon.” The song of an artiste who is immortal,” Ayushmann wrote. 

Kishore Kumar, considered one of the most popular male singers in Hindi cinema, sang several hit songs in his illustrious career. Be it peppy tracks or melodious numbers, the playback singer lent his voice to songs belonging to different genres.  

The ‘Roop Tere Mastana’ hitmaker passed away in October 1987 after suffering a heart attack. Fans still remember Kishore Da for his classic songs like 'Dil Aia Kisi Ne Mera', 'Agar Tum Na Hote', 'Sagar Kinare', to name a few. 

Ayushmann Khurrana’s Upcoming Films 

On the professional front, Khurrana was last seen in ‘Gulabo Sitabo’, which released in June 2020. The film co-starring Amitabh Bachchan premiered directly on Amazon Prime Video. 

Ayushmann will entertain the audience with a new romantic drama titled ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’. The movie, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, also stars Vaani Kapoor in a lead role. The ‘Badhaai Ho’ star also has Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Anek’ in his kitty.
