Animal Day 13 Box Office Collection: Ranbir Kapoor Starrer To Enter Rs 800 Cr Club Globally
After over two weeks at the box office, the Ranbir Kapoor film Animal is slowly approaching the Rs 800 crore milestone worldwide.
New Delhi: After over two weeks at the box office, the Ranbir Kapoor film Animal is slowly approaching the Rs 800 crore milestone worldwide. Animal, which is helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has held its own at the box office even though its second week's earnings have been declining daily. Industry tracker Sacnilk reports that on its second Wednesday, the movie brought in Rs 10 cr all-India net—the lowest total since its December 1 release.
As of now, the movie's total all-India nett is Rs 467 cr. As it approaches its third weekend—which will be the most important for the movie in terms of shattering lifetime records of some of the films it is competing with, such as Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan—Animal will aim to mint in the same range on Thursday and avoid falling into single digits.
To put things in perspective, Animal's second Wednesday, which grosses Rs 10-cr, is the same as Sunny Deol's Gadar 2. While Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan had released on a Wednesday (January 25) so its second Wednesday fell in week one, which helped its collections which were a whopping Rs 18 cr. Jawan, Shah Rukh's second release of the year, made Rs 9.6 crore on its second Wednesday.
Animal has made about Rs 423 cr in Hindi out of a total of Rs 467 cr nett. Animal currently plans to break the records set by Pathaan (Rs 524 cr) and Gadar 2 (Rs 525 cr) in terms of pure Hindi nett. This will require more than Rs 100 cr going forward. Animal will aim to surpass Pathaan's Rs 545 cr box office haul on an all-India basis.
Animal needs to have a great third weekend in order to break these records. After Sunday, the movie will only have three days left before its distribution is drastically curtailed as Shah Rukh Khan's third release of the year, Dunki, opens on Thursday.
Along with Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Dunki', another Christmas bonanza, Prabhas starrer 'Salaar Part 1' will also hit theatres on December 22.
