Pakistani singer Ali Zafar trended on social media after the anthem of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 was unveiled on Saturday (February 6) evening. Many Pakistani fans expressed their disappointment over the new anthem of PSL 6 and requested the ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ star to launch a ‘new masterpiece’ soon.
Ali Zafar, who enjoys a significant fan following on Twitter, couldn’t help but wonder why he trended on the micro-blogging site. He wrote, “Ab kya ker diya mein ne? (What did I do now?”)
Many fans from the neighboring country asked him to make a new anthem for the cricket league. One user wrote, “Please sir make a new anthem asap please Loudly crying face we don't want to ruin our whole psl because of this cringe anthem.”
Another user tweeted, "After listening to "Groove Mera" @AliZafarsays we really badly need YOU right now!! PLEASEEEEE."

The authorities of Pakistan Super League expected the anthem to resonate well with the fans but it didn’t turn out as per expectations. Many cricket lovers missed Zafar’s old anthems which he crooned for the cricket league. For the uninitiated, the talented singer lent his voice to the anthems of the first three seasons of PSL.
PSL 6’s anthem ‘Groove Mera’, which has been composed by Xulfi and Adnan Dhool, features vocals by Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig and Young Stunners.
Ali Zafar has worked in several Bollywood films including 'London, Paris, New York', 'Chashme Baddoor', 'Kill Dill' and 'Dear Zindagi'. He made his debut in the Hindi film industry with 'Tere Bin Laden', which received a good response from the audience.
