Akshaye Khanna’s mother and Late Vinod Khanna’s ex-wife Geetanjali Khanna passes away at 70

New Delhi: Geetanjali Khanna, the mother of Bollywood actors Akshaye Khanna and Rahul Khanna, has left for her heavenly abode on Saturday (December 15). She was 70. A report in a leading daily suggested that Geetanjali breathed her last, hours after complaining of uneasiness. Geetanjali married late actor Vinod Khanna in 1971 and the two got divorced in 1985. Geetanjali was declared brought dead by the Alibaug Civil Hospital last night, the report in the daily added. “The two sons along with their mother keep visiting their farmhouse in Mandwa. Geetanjali and Akshaye came around 11 on Saturday morning. It was in the afternoon when she complained of uneasiness. She was taken to a local doctor, who prescribed her some medicines,” a source told Indian Express. According the report, Geetanjali went to sleep and when her son Akshaye checked her between 9-10pm, he found her body temperature had dropped. “Akshaye called Rahul up and both of them, then, took her to the civil hospital, where she was declared brought dead,” the source further told the daily. Geetanjali Khanna’s funeral took place on Sunday (December 16). Her former husband and veteran actor Vinod Khanna had passed away last year on April 27. We express our condolences to the Khanna family.
