Akshay Kumar Gets Trolled For His Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Look After Fans Find Electric Bulbs In The Video

Akshay Kumar on Tuesday unveiled his look from his upcoming Marathi film 'Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. The video was also trolled because of one mistake by the makers.

New Delhi: Akshay Kumar on Tuesday unveiled his look from his upcoming Marathi film 'Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. The actor will be portraying the role of Shivaji Maharaj in the film. While his fans praised the actor’s transformation for the role, the video was also trolled because of one mistake by the makers.

The shot which tracks Akshay essaying Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj also shows a chandelier in the frame. Now, here's the catch. The chandelier has light bulbs installed throughout its rim. The reason behind the trolling is that bulbs were invented much after the tenure of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who ruled from 1630 to 1680.

One user commented, "What was the cinematographer even thinking while lighting up that scene."

Another wrote, "The focus puller missed that by ‘light' years."

Then there's one use who wrote, "They're making a period film and they messed up with the timeline. Some research would be good."

The good thing is that the makers can take a cue from social media and rectify the mistake in production provided they are open to feedback from the audience for whom they're making the film.

Earlier on Tuesday, the actor began filming the first session of his first Marathi film. Akshay took to his social media accounts to announce the news. His caption read, “Today I am starting the shooting of Marathi film ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Sat’. I am lucky to be able to play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ji. I will do my best by taking inspiration from her life and blessing of Mother Jijau! Keep your blessings on us.”

The actor also uploaded a video of himself in full warrior garb as the renowned Maratha leader. The video opens with Akshay strolling toward the camera while the tagline "Jai Shivaji, Jai Bhavani" plays in the background. He also added the caption "Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji" to his post.

Produced by Vaseem Qureshi, ‘Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat’ will debut in theatres on Diwali 2023. Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu are the four regional languages in which it will be released. The film is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar.
