Akshara Haasan 'disappears' ahead of film release, director miffed
NEW DELHI: Actress Akshara Haasan has gone 'missing' from the promotional activities of her next film 'Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana'. The movie is all set to release on April 7 but the lead actress remains unavailable.
Now, the entire responsibility of the promotion is on the shoulders of actors Vivaan Shah and Gurmeet Chaudhary. This has upset the makers, speaking to mid-day, director Manish Harishankar said, "She was co-operative during the film's shoot. I really don't know what has gotten into her now. She remains incommunicado. Repeated calls have gone unanswered. Her manager says she is tied up with other commitments. She only attended the trailer launch followed by media interaction."
"We were slated to be on Kapil Sharma's show, but everyone wants to know why the heroine is missing. I wish she would tell us what is going on in her mind," added the director.
Replying to the accusations, Akshara said, "I did make it to certain promotions, but couldn't attend a few others due to my uncle's demise".
Akshara was going through shock and pain after her filmmaker-uncle Chandrahasan's demise. Hence, the makers of the film gave her some time off to mourn but even after days she was unavailable.
