‘Taare Zameen Par’, starring Darsheel Safary and Aamir Khan, won many hearts with its moving premise. Darsheel, who made his Bollywood debut with the film, also delivered an impressive performance in the film. Aamir Khan helmed the movie, and it was also backed by his production house.

The official X (formerly Twitter) account of Aamir Khan Productions posted the first audition clip they recorded of Darsheel on Sunday when they were looking for the lead role in the film. Darsheel played the role of Ishaan. 


In the video, the camera is tuned towards Darsheel's face as he gets ready for school. He can be seen dressed in his school uniform and appears to be distracted while sitting in the classroom. When the teacher calls his name, he goes on to open his notebook.

In the clip, Aamir Khan says in a voiceover, ‘Mujhe yaad hein Darsheel ka maine jab test dekha… jaha Darsheel ka pehla shot aya aur usne dialogue bhi nahi bola tha. Aur mujhe yaad hein uska chehra dekh ke uski aankhein dekh ke maine kaha, ‘Ye bachcha hain! Yeh Ishaan hain.’ (This is the kid! This is Ishaan)"






About Taare Zameen Par


‘Taare Zameen Par' released in 2007 and was widely acclaimed by critics and audiences. The film revolves around Ishaan, an eight-year-old child who is struggling because of his poor academic performance. Aamir Khan portrayed the role of his art teacher, who helped him after learning that he has dyslexia.


The film was the official entry from India for the Best Foreign Film category at the 81st Academy Awards. It also won five Filmfare Awards and three National Awards.
