Akshay Kumar Celebrates 2 Years Of ‘Kesari’, Says ‘This One Line Was Enough For Me To Do The Film’

New Delhi: The 2019 patriotic film ‘Kesari’ has been loved and appreciated by both the critics and the audience. The film left everyone in tears as it told the story of the Battle of Saragarhi, a battle which was fought by 21 Sikh soldiers to protect their motherland till their last breath. Akshay Kumar portrayed the lead role of Havildar Ishar Singh in ‘Kesari’ and Parineeti Chopra played the role of his wife.

Written and directed by Anurag Singh, ‘Kesari’ was jointly produced by Karan Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Sunir Khetarpal under the banners of Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, Azure Entertainment and Zee Studios.
Other than Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, this movie also starred Mir Sarwar, Vansh Bhardwaj, Jaspreet Singh, Vivek Saini, Vikram Kochhar and Rakesh Sharma in supporting roles. It hit the theatres on March 21, 2019, and grossed over Rs 100 crore in its opening weekend. It became one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films in 2019 earning approximately Rs 207 crores worldwide.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will be next seen starring in ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Bell Bottom’, ‘Atrangi Re’, ‘Prithviraj’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and ‘Ram Setu’.
