Black Panther Wakanda Forever Day 2 Box Office Collection: The Marvel Flick Hits Rs 50 Crore Milestone

Black Panther Wakanda Forever, the sequel to the 2018 superhero film 'Black Panther', is doing well at the box office, especially in India.

The sequel to the 2018 superhero movie 'Black Panther', titled 'Black Panther Wakanda Forever', is doing strongly at the box office, particularly in India. The film, which is directed by Ryan Coogler, opened to a solid Rs 15.48 crore and crossed the Rs 50 crore milestone in India in its first weekend.

Variety reports that Marvel's 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' dominated the box office this past weekend, earning $180 million in North America. The superhero flick made a colossally impressive $330 million worldwide, $150 million of which came from 55 overseas markets.

With such a strong start, 'Black Panther Wakanda Forever' is almost at the tenth spot in the Hollywood Top 10 Grossers list for 2022. According to reports, 'Top Gun: Maverick' ($1.486 billion) is currently at the top of the list, followed by the Tom Holland-Mark Wahlberg-led film 'Uncharted,' which earned $401.7 million.

Even though 'Black Panther Wakanda Forever' outperformed other Hindi films, it nevertheless had lower opening numbers in India than Marvel's 'Doctor Strange into the Multiverse of Madness' and 'Thor Love and Thunder'.

The first 'Black Panther' movie, which starred the late Chadwick Boseman, was able to grab the attention of viewers worldwide. Marvel Studios and fans were left in an emotional state of uncertainty over the franchise's fate after the actor passed away in 2020.

Even before filming started, the filmmakers had to deal with the tragic off-screen incident involving Boseman. With characters like Letitia Wright's Shuri, Angela Bassett's Ramonda, and Lupita N'yongo taking command of the narrative without ousting Boseman, the sequel masterfully managed to turn into a tribute to the actor.

In the most recent movie, Shuri and Ramonda struggle with bereavement while fending off threats from Namor, a man who rules an aquatic kingdom. 'Black Panther Wakanda Forever' hit the screens on November 11.
