Anil Nedumangad Death: 'Kammatipadam' Fame Actor Drowns In Malankara Dam; Malayalam Celebs Offer Condolences

In a highly tragic incident, South actor Anil Nedumangad, best known for his performances in 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum', 'Kammatti Paadam' and 'Njan Steve Lopez', drowned while bathing in Kerala's Malankara Dam on Friday. ALSO READ | Rajinikanth Health Update: Actor Stable, To Stay At Hospital Tonight; Kamal Haasan Prays For His Speedy Recovery According to the reports, the 48-year-old actor was taking a bath in the dam which is near the shooting location for the upcoming Malayalam film Peace. Anil and his friends reportedly went to bath in the Malankara dam during the shot break. While everyone else was bathing, it is being reported that Nedumangad went into the deep end and got pulled under strong currents. After some time, when the actor's friends noticed that he is missing, they searched for him with the help of rescue workers. A search operation was launched and Nedumangad was pulled out by 6 PM. Soon he was rushed to the hospital for the treatment but the doctors declared him brought dead. As per the latest reports, the actor’s mortal remains are at a private hospital, and will be transferred to the Thodupuzha General Hospital mortuary. Shocked with the news, several celebrities from the Malayalam film industry took to social media to mourn the untimely demise of the actor. Prithviraj Sukumaran, a famous Malayalam film actor, producer, director and singer, confirmed the news via his Facebook post. "Nothing. I have nothing to say. Hope you’re at peace Anil etta," Sukumaran wrote on his verified Facebook handle, alongside a photo of the late actor.
