New Delhi: The eagerly anticipated teaser for the movie 'Lal Salaam,' starring Rajinikanth, has finally been released by the filmmakers. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth and featuring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, the teaser offers a sneak peek into Rajinikanth's extended cameo in the sports action drama.
The dynamic teaser of Lal Salaam kicks off with an intense cricket match, where the commentator declares it to be more than just a game – it's a war. Rajinikanth's character, 'Moideen Bhai', makes a grand entrance, arriving in his car and engaging in a fierce fight against thugs. He delivers a powerful line, stating, "You have melded religion with sports. You have poisoned the minds of the people." The teaser then showcases the destructive consequences of rivalry within the game, wreaking havoc in the surroundings.
In response to the teaser, one fan expressed expectations for a message-oriented film rather than a commercial one, praising the thrilling moment of Rajinikanth's entry with A.R. Rahman's background music. Others echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the elevated impact of Thalaivar's presence in the teaser.
With 'Lal Salaam,' Aishwarya returns to direction after a seven-year hiatus, with her last directorial project being the Tamil action-thriller 'Vai Raja Vai,' featuring Dhanush in a cameo.
Rumored to be set against the backdrop of cricket and communism, 'Lal Salaam' stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant in lead roles, with Rajinikanth making an extended cameo appearance.
The movie also features a notable cast, including Senthil, Jeevitha, Thambi Ramaiah, Ananthika Sanilkumar, Vivek Prasanna, and Thangadurai. Backed by Lyca Productions, 'Lal Salaam' is slated for a 2024 Pongal release, marking Aishwaryaa's return to feature film direction after eight years.
Following the success of 'Jailer,' which grossed over ₹650 crore worldwide, Rajinikanth is also set to appear in the untitled movie 'Thalaivar 170,' sharing the screen with Amitabh Bachchan after 33 years.
