Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has had an acting career spanning over a decade. The superstar ventured into acting with this Telugu movie.

New Delhi: Bride-to-be Katrina Kaif is hogging all the limelight these days. Actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal's big Bollywood wedding has become the talk of the town, with the actors' fans excited for every small detail.

While Katrina has been a superstar for long, very few know about the movie with which she tasted success for the first time.

The actress who has won hearts with her performance in Bollywood movies such as 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' and 'New York', acted in a southern movie in 2004. The film titled 'Malliswari' was a Telugu-language romantic-comedy.

Though Katrina debuted with the 2003 film 'Boom' starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff and Zeenat Aman, among others, the Kaizad Gustad flick was a huge flop and Katrina went unnoticed. Her Telugu debut gave her a strong footing in the industry as 'Malliswari' became a commercial success.

Directed by K. Vijaya Bhaskar, the film starred Venkatesh and Katrina Kaif, who played the titular role of the princess of Mirzapuram. According to the story of the film, Malliswari's deceased father wrote in his will that she would inherit the property worth millions after she turns 21. But her caretaker wanted to usurp the property by killing her, which forced her to start living a life in disguise. Venkatesh played the role of the lead character, Prasad.

According to media reports, she was paid a remuneration of Rs 70 lakh for her work, which made her the highest-paid actress down south at that time.

Here is a video from the film where the actress can be seen in a dance sequence with co-star Venkatesh who played a bank employee in the film.

Katrina and Vicky's wedding is to take place at Six Senses Fort in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. With the wedding festivities beginning from December 7, the couple would reportedly tie-the-knot on December 9.
