Karan Johar Quits Twitter, Says, 'Making Space For More Positive Energies Only'

Karan Johar on Monday announced that he is quitting the microblogging site Twitter as he wants to make space for more positive energies.

New Delhi: Karan Johar on Monday announced that he is quitting the microblogging site Twitter as he wants to make space for more positive energies.

Karan took to Twitter to share this update with his followers. He tweeted, "Making space for more positive energies only and this is step one towards that. Goodbye Twitter!."

It is not clear what made Karan take the step. However, the filmmaker has often been trolled on social media platforms over his movies and castings.

Recently he spoke to Bollywood Hungama in an interview about social media trolling and termed it unfair. “Bollywood went through a really tough time with all the trolling and bashing that was happening. It was not a nice time. I, particularly, felt I was right at the centre of so much negativity. It was something I never envisaged, imagined. I felt there was so much being said and written that was unfair,” he told Bollywood Hungama.

Yet, one had to chin up and move on. Because eventually, I am accountable to my company, to my mum, my family. I just felt I had to be stronger and take it all in my stride. Being resilient was very important at that point of time. It was just so unnecessary and I am glad, we could go past that and focus on work. That’s what I did. I put all my thoughts on work zone. Maybe not everybody came out as a stronger human being, but I’d like to say there were many,” he added.

On the work front, Karan recently finished the seventh season of 'Koffee With Karan' on Disney+ Hostar. He is currently busy with his next directorial 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra.

He is also judging the dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ along with Madhuri Dixit and Nora Fatehi.
