Marathi Actress Kalyani Kurale Jadhav Dies In Road Accident In Kolhapur
Marathi television actress Kalyani Kurale Jadhav, known for her role in the TV serial 'Tujyhat Jeev Rangala', died in a road accident in Kolhapur on Saturday.
New Delhi: Marathi television actress Kalyani Kurale Jadhav, known for her role in the TV serial 'Tujyhat Jeev Rangala', died in a road accident in Kolhapur on Saturday. The actress died after her motorcycle was hit by a concrete mixer tractor in Kolhapur district, a police official told PTI. She was 32.
Kalyani was on her way home late Saturday evening when the accident took place near Halondi intersection on Sangli-Kolhapur highway.
"She was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. A case has been filed against the tractor driver under Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act provisions," the Kolhapur police official told PTI.
The driver of the vehicle that hit Kalyani has been detained, an Indian Express report quoted a police official as saying.
Kalyani had opened a restaurant recently in Kolhapur. “According to the information received, Jadhav was riding home after closing the restaurant for the day when the accident took place. Her two-wheeler was knocked down by a tractor. She sustained fatal injuries due to the impact. A first information report (FIR) has been registered against the driver of the tractor and he has been detained,” Indian Express quoted a police official as saying.
Kalyani was a known face in the Marathi entertainment industry. She had done TV shows like Tujhyat Jeev Rangla and Dakkhancha Raja Jyotiba.
A native of Kolhapur, Kalyani had moved to Pune for her acting career and moved back to Kolhapur during lockdown and had opened a restaurant recently. She was managing her acting career and restaurant business simultaneously.
Kalyani was quite active on social media and had posted an Instagram story 22 hours before her death.
The actress celebrated her birthday a week before her demise and took to Instagram to share a video from her celebration.
