Ishaan Khatter Recalls How Amitabh Bachchan Helped Him Get Admitted To School
Not just actors, but other people working in the Entertainment industry spanning across a wide range of age groups wished him and sent their messages on his birthday.
New Delhi: The "Shehenshah" of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 80th birthday on Tuesday and he was overwhelmed by wishes and greetings from members of his family, fans and the entertainment industry as a whole. Not just actors, but other people working in the Entertainment industry spanning across a wide range of age groups wished him and sent their messages on his birthday. One of the wishes was from actor Ishaan Khatter, who recalled how the veteran actor played a huge role in his life, and surprisingly he was not aware of it until recently.
Ishaan Khatter revealed that Amitabh Bachchan had helped him get into a reputable school when he was a young boy. Amitabh had offered to assist him, after learning that Ishaan's mother, actress Neelima Azeem, was having trouble enrolling Ishaan in school while they were shooting together.
Ishaan told ETimes, “Not many people know this, but he’s done a huge favour to me, even before I became an actor. He was the reason why I got admission to my school. My mother was working with him at the time. It was very difficult to get admission into that school and Mr Bachchan paid a personal visit to the authorities and the principal. I only found out about this much later in life, once I was an adult. But can you imagine that? The Amitabh Bachchan did that so that a kid could get a good education.”
Ishaan is a fan of Amitabh Bachchan and has admired his work. He recalls having watched some of his iconic films, 'Anand' and 'Deewar' and tries to learn from those films so that he can improve his work.
He says, "In the last two decades that I’ve been watching his work, he has constantly reinvented himself not just as a star but as an actor. I have only respect and admiration for him. There’s so much to learn just by watching him."
Taking to Instagram, he wished Mr Bachchan on his birthday by sharing a picture from the movie 'Deewar' and writing a sweet note as the caption. He had written, "Happy birthday Amitji... from a child you once helped get admission into the school. I only learnt this once I was older, little did I know that you would be part of my education forever... As a student of life and cinema. There is no greater inspiration than watching you trailblazing in your silent resilience. My mom always told me there is greater power in silence. I see that in you. Thank you for all that you are and all that you have given to the world of cinema. From a forever admirer..."
