New Delhi: Fans of Ryan Gosling may have cause for celebration. At the forthcoming Oscars event, the Academy Award-nominated actor might give a live performance of the Barbie song 'I'm Just Ken'. Days after implying that The Academy would view his on-stage performance as a “risk,” Variety reports that he has been barred from performing his hit song live.


Every Best Original Song nominee will perform live during the Oscars ceremony, as is customary. Following Ryan's unexpected hit song, 'I'm Just Ken', nomination, fans have been wondering if the actor-singer will indeed make a live appearance at the ceremony. It is now confirmed by a report in Variety.com that he would take the stage and perform the Barbie song.

Ryan previously stated the following regarding his possible live performance at the Oscars in an interview with Variety:“It might be too much of a risk to have me do it. I don’t know how that would work. But I’m open to it."


Other Oscar Nominations In Best Song category


'What Was I Made For?' by Billie Eilish and Finneas is also nominated for an Oscar, along with 'I'm Just Ken'. 'The Fire Inside' by Becky G and Diane Warren from, 'It Never Went Away' by Jon Batiste from American Symphony, and 'Wahzhazhe' (A Song for My People) from Killers of the Flower Moon, which has music and lyrics by Scott George, are among the other contenders in the category.


Barbie At Oscars


While Greta Gerwig, the filmmaker, and co-star Margot Robbie were passed over for Best Actress and Best filmmaker, respectively, Ryan is also nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal as Ken in Barbie. Barbie is still up for an Oscar, though, as co-producers Margot and Greta are nominated for Best Picture.


On March 13 at 4 am, Disney+ Hotstar will provide a live broadcast of the 95th Academy Awards in India.
