'Oppenheimer' vs 'Barbie' Box Office Day 1: Nolan Film Expected To Collect Rs. 15 Cr While Gerwig Film To Earn Rs. 7 Cr

New Delhi: Good for Bollywood films to not have released in theaters this weekend. Hollywood films like 'Mission: Impossible-Dead Reckoning Part 1', 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' are in theatres and fans seem to not get enough. With the release of 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer', Tom Cruise's film will take a back seat at the box office. 

As per trade analysis site Sacnilk.com, 'MIssion: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One' is likely to collect Rs. 1.7 crores on Friday while 'Barbie' is expected to open at Rs. 7 crores. MI 7's current box office business stands at Rs. 82.38 crores from the Indian market. After 'Oppenheimer' and 'Barbie' join the race, the collections are going to fall further.

'Barbie'

'Barbie' stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken. The film has been directed by Greta Gerwig of 'Lady Bird' fame. The film is about the iconic Barbie character stepping out of Barbie Land to face the challenges in the real world. The film has received an overall positive rating from the international media. Many have even called it 'cerebral'.

'Oppenheimer'

Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan's much-awaited film 'Oppenheimer' also releases on July 21. The film stars Cilian Murphy as J Robert Oppenheimer, the 'father of the atomic bomb'. The film stars Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Roberty Downey Jr, Florence Pugh, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett and Kenneth Branagh.

‘Oppenheimer’ is also expected to have a bumper box office opening in India. As per Sacnilk.com, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ will collect Rs. 15 crores in India ( all languages in which it has been released) as per early trend reports.

'Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1'

Tom Cruise starrer 'Missin: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One' collected Rs. 3.8 crores on Thursday, reported Sacnilk.com. The current collection of 'MI 7' stands ar Rs. 82.38 crores and the film is expected to collect Rs. 1.7 crorres at the box office on Friday with 'Oppenheimer' and 'Barbie' in the race.
