'This Is The Only Work I Did While I Was Pregnant': Dia Mirza Revisits Her Shoot Days For 'Made In Heaven Season 2'

Along with Sobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Mathur, this season marks the presence of Dia Mirza, Mrunal Thakur and a few more as they unravel the hidden truths behind the smiling faces on a wedding album.

New Delhi: The much-awaited sequel to 'Made In Heaven' was released on August 10 and has created all the buzz around. Based on real life issues, societal stigmas and all that people in love deal with, 'Made In Heaven Season 2' once again proved that marriages are not just made in heaven, but there is a lot more to them than people can fathom. The series addresses issues like polygamy, gay marriages, domestic violence and so much more. Touching the lives of men and women alike, 'Made In Heaven' not just has dialogues that win hearts, but also so many gut-wrenching moments.

Along with Sobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Mathur, Jim Sharb, Kalki Koechlin and others, this season marks the presence of Dia Mirza, Mrunal Thakur, Mona Singh and a few more as they unravel the hidden truths behind the smiling faces on the pages of a wedding album.

In a chat with ABP Live, Dia Mirza spoke about her experience in the series and gave insights into some memorable moments from her shoot days.

"Two days after I got married, I took a flight to Delhi to film for the series," said Dia, "I have worked with Zoya and Reema before, this was the first time I was working with Alankrita who had directed my episode. I had read the material and was very very excited about what we were going to film. But, now it almost feels surreal because this is the only work I did while I was pregnant, and I feel somehow it made things even more special."

"I was more moved by what was happening because I was carrying life, and I think in some ways that kind of transcends. The team was also wonderful. They were so caring amd protective. We used to go into some pretty long workdays. I remember, there was this one day when we were filming till 2-3 AM in the morning and everybody was just so concerned because I was on my feet for so long. But, I think when you work for themes that carry so much meaning, everything becomes worthwhile," she further went on to say.

Sharing some memorable moments and what made her say 'yes', despite being preganant, Dia said, "It was the theme. The theme of the narrative, what it stood for and what I believed it could do for people. The strength that it could offer, the clarity, and going by the kind of reactions I am getting, I think I was right. Even in an individual capacity, my aim is to widen my horizons, strenghten my perspectives, and just heighten my world view through the narratives that I seek and the shows that I choose to be a part of. So, it was a win win situation all through the way."

"Also, I love to do work that makes my children proud and to be able to do and stand for things that they look at, whether now or in the future. And they would know that I was trying to do something that would make a difference," she further added.

Dia also shared the responses she has received from people after 'Made In Heaven Season 2' saying that even people from her schooldays reached out to her after the release.

"I've been flooded with messages and calls from teachers and classmates from school and people I have lost contact with. So, it has really reached out to people. But, what's interesting is that along with the women, men are also equally connecting to the story telling and the issues that we are addressing. I have never had so many actors and directors messaging me."

Directed by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, the series is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
