'Stay Strong Thalaiva': Amid Dhanush-Aishwaryaa’s Separation News, Netizens Extend Support To Rajnikanth

South megastar Dhanush and wife Aishwaryaa, who is a director and playback singer, have decided to go on their separate ways after 18 years of marriage. On the evening of 17th January, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa announced their separation on social media. The two shared identical statements confirming the split.

The statement read, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other..The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting...Today we stand at a place where our paths separate...Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better.” Dhanush further added, “Please respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this. Om Namashivayaa. Spread Love. D”

Aishwaryaa is superstar Rajnikanth’s daughter. And the separation news of Dhanush and Aishwaryaa has left their fans heartbroken.

Many social media users are sharing pictures of the former couple from the archives which indicate happier times, calling the separation 'unexpected & shocking'. 

These fans also extended their support to superstar Rajnikanth. Some even recounted how emotionally drained the star was during the divorce proceedings of his other daughter Soundarya. He will have to go through it again.

Meanwhile, pictures of Dhanush with Rajnikanth and the ones where the three of them are together are doing rounds on the internet.

For those unaware, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa got married in 2004 in a traditional South-Indian ceremony. The two are parents to two sons Yatra Raja and Linga Raja.
