Chup Teaser: R Balki's Intriguing Ode To Guru Dutt Features Sunny Deol And Dulquer Salmaan

New Delhi: On Saturday, the producers of ‘Chup: Revenge of the Artist’ shared the official teaser for the film with the public. The film directed by R. Balki is being referred to as an "ode" to Guru Dutt, and the official teaser of the film was released on the 58th anniversary of the late filmmaker's passing. 

Legendary actor, Amitabh Bachchan shared the interesting teaser of this psychological thriller movie on his social media accounts. In the film's teaser, Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol, and Shreya Dhanwanthary were seen for the first time. 

Dulquer is seen crafting a flower-shaped bouquet out of cut newspapers in the teaser. He can be heard singing "Happy Birthday" to the tune of Guru Dutt's Kaagaz Ke Phool song ‘Waqt Ne Kya Haseen Sitam’. Dulquer gives Shreya a bouquet of paper flowers, and in exchange, she speaks about the criticism Kaagaz Ke Phool got upon its release. DQ screams "Chup" as the teaser concludes. A brief shot featuring Sunny Deol's character is also included in the teaser.

Dulquer Salmaan also tweeted the teaser with the caption, “You are an aspiration and inspiration to us all, here’s to you #GuruDutt Ji.”

On the occasion of the death of the legendary cinema director Guru Dutt in October of the previous year, the makers of the film had already declared its title. Balki said that Chup is a tribute to the sensitive artist.

In collaboration with Raja Sen and Rishi Virmani, Balki penned the script for the movie as well as the dialogues. Chup's release date has not been disclosed.
