New Delhi: Varun Dhawan has expressed outrage over the treatment of a stray dog by IPL ground staff during the recent match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT). A viral video captured the disturbing moment when a dog entered the field, causing a temporary halt in the match, only to be chased and kicked away by ground staff.
The incident sparked a debate on social media regarding animal cruelty, with netizens condemning the actions of the ground staff. Sharing the video on Instagram, the official handle of StreetdogsofBombay criticised the staffer's behaviour, highlighting the unfortunate reality of unchecked animal abuse.
Actor Varun took to Instagram stories and shared his thoughts on this incident writing, "Wtf a dog isn’t a football. Also, the dog isn’t biting or harming anyone. Regardless there has to be a better way."
One user wrote, "Shameful behaviour from the staff of such highly profile biggest cricket ground," while another one wrote, "Karma will never leave them those who kick the innocent dog."
