According to Suneil Shetty, he was able to attend and feed all 70 guests at Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul's wedding.
New Delhi: At Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala, Athiya Shetty tied the knot with cricketer KL Rahul on January 23, 2023. In a recent chat show, Suniel Shetty reminisced about his daughter Athiya's wedding, mentioning that he had invited only 70 guests to the special event. "Kisi ko nahi bulaya," Shetty said, highlighting how close-knit the gathering was.
Suniel Shetty recently appeared on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiya's chat show, where he talked about his daughter’s wedding. He said, “Ghar mein 70 log the aur ghar me hi shaadi hui. Kaafi logo ne kaha kisi ko nahi bulaoge toh acha nahi hai, toh isliye kisi ko nahi bulaya. (There were 70 people in the house and the wedding took place at home. Many people said If you don't invite, it's not good, so we don't invite anyone, there is no tension, that's why we didn't invite anyone)”
He further added, “It was at home and Tia (Athiya) also wanted it to happen at home. That was it, there was no one else. The reverse happened, people started saying that weddings should be like this, small family. Counting both the boys' and the girls' parties, there were 70 people in total.”
According to Suneil Shetty, he was able to attend to and feed everyone at the wedding as he invited fewer guests.
The actor recalled, “Har ek ne kya khaya hai aur kitna khaya, wo bhi mujhe pata tha. The idea was Atithi Devo Bhava. Hum wo 5000 logo ko bula lete aur uske baad attend kisi ko nahi karte. (I knew what each one ate and how much they ate. We should have invited 5000 people and after that, we could not attend to anyone)”
