New Delhi: In a rather unusual promotional strategy, we see Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay Sethupathi answer 7 questions on their upcoming film 'Jawan'. Shah Rukh Khan shared that he met Atlee during the making of 'Bigil' during a match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. SRK also spoke about the reason behind doing action films, how he signed up for ‘Jawan’ and more. Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi threw some light on his character and experience of working with King Khan.
Red Chillies Entertainment shared a video clip featuring SRK and Vijay Sethupathi answering 7 questions ahead of Jawan's release on Sep 7. The video was shared by the production house on their official YouTube handle.
How did SRK sign Jawan
In a rather candid and witty manner, SRK began to answer why he had taken the challenge of answering only 7 questions and the significance of the number 7 for 'Jawan'. As SRK began recounting meeting Atlee during an IPl match in Chennai, he shared that the meeting happened when Atlee was working on 'Bigil'.
Soon after COVID-19 happened. Atlee came to Mumbai later and with King Khan to discuss a film and one thing led to another. He wittily also said that the first line Atlee told him about the film was, 'it's you sir with five girls', further sharing that Atlee said, ' my wife Priya and I feel, you look the nicest when you have a bunch of ladies around you'.
SRK then asked about lots of action, 'high speed shots', 'lots of dancing', 'lots of good dialogues', and 'five girls' and when Atlee replied in the affirmative, SRK said 'Done' and that it is how he signed up for 'Jawan'.
Vijay Sethupathi on playing the villain in Jawan
Vijay Sethupathi then spoke about meeting SRK and Atlee and then sharing how the film materialized. Interestingly, Vijay Sethupathi also shared that whenever he plays the villain, it is not him but the hero becomes the villain.
"Whenever I play the villain, I am not the villain, it is the hero who is the villain because I am going on my own path and somebody is disturbing me which means he is the villain, not me."Sethupathi said in the video clip.
Is SRK's character in Jawan a villain or hero
Answering whether his character in 'Jawan' is the hero, villain or villain-hero, SRK said that there is already a lot of confusion created by fans over this and that he really does not know. Using a riddle,King Khan shares that it is for the audience to decide whether or not he is the villain or hero.
Shedding a little more light on his character, Shah Rukh Khan says that his character is actually a common man 'doing uncommon things for the common good of people'.

Vijay Sethupathi then goes on to answer about his experience of working with SRK to which he likes SRK's spontaneity.
SRK on having a life insurance policy
In another answer, SRK says that he has been wounded so many times that honest-to-God, no one will actually have a life insurance policy on him.
SRK on doing action films
He also shared a personal reason why SRK does action films. Sharing that his kids Aryan and Suhana advised him to do action films so as to appeal to the youngest of generation, like his third born AbRam, SRK has been on a journey to do 'cool, action films' solely for that reason and no other,
Shah Rukh Khan also suggested that he became a superhero earlier but did not like himself in spandex and thus opted for bandages, like the ones we see him in 'Jawan'.
