Former actress Sana Khan has sparked controversy after a video featuring her with fellow ex-Bigg Boss contestant Sambhavna Seth gained traction online. The clip, which shows Sana playfully insisting that Sambhavna wear a burqa and dupatta, has divided opinions. While some see it as a lighthearted exchange between friends, others believe Sana was imposing her personal beliefs.

In the widely circulated video, Sana is heard saying, “Tere paas ek acchi salwar kameez nahi hai… thappad chahiye? Where is your dupatta? Burqa laao… Sambhavna ko burqa pehnao (You don’t have a good salwar kameez… Want a slap? Where is your dupatta? Bring a burqa… Make Sambhavna wear a burqa).”
In response, Sambhavna explained that she had gained 15 kgs, making it difficult for her to fit into her previous outfits. She added, “People will focus on what we say, not on our clothes. People will love us for who we are.”
Netizens slam Sana Khan
The video quickly went viral, drawing sharp criticism from netizens. Many users took issue with Sana’s remarks, accusing her of policing Sambhavna’s clothing choices. One user commented, “Sambhavna should avoid hanging out with such people.”
Another person slammed Sana’s words, stating, “This is ridiculous… She was already dressed modestly, yet Sana had a problem. Who is she to comment? Just because you wear a niqab doesn’t make you more righteous.”
Another user wrote, "It was rude of Sana to comment on her clothes. She had worn fully covered clothes then what's the problem??"
Another user voiced disappointment, saying, “This is very bad behavior, especially to show online. Respecting others’ beliefs is just as important as wanting yours to be respected. Even if she was joking, it sets a bad example, especially when there’s already enough hate towards us. Forcing anyone to do something they’re uncomfortable with is completely haram.”
Echoing similar views, another user remarked, “Sambhavna is already wearing decent clothes. I don’t understand why Sana is making an issue out of it. She isn’t Muslim, and Sana shouldn’t be forcing anything on her. Forcing someone to follow your beliefs goes against Islam itself.”
Some also argued that personal attire is a matter of choice. “Clothes should not be imposed on anyone. Sambhavna has full rights to wear whatsoever she wants. If Sana has a problem, then she shouldn’t invite people onto her show,” an Instagram user wrote.
Some defended Sana
However, a few fans defended Sana, suggesting that her comments were being misinterpreted. “Guys, apparently Sambhavna will be seen attending Sana’s podcast, and Sana is pointing out that she is underdressed. She is not questioning her choice to cover/not cover her body. Sana is telling her that if she had told her before, she would have arranged for some alternatives. The comments section is full of negativity,” one user explained.
