Allu Arjun arrest: Telugu superstar Allu Arjun, recently arrested in connection with a tragic incident during the screening of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' in Hyderabad, has received strong support from his co-star Rashmika Mandanna. Addressing the unfortunate events, Mandanna expressed her dismay over Arjun being held accountable for the stampede that led to a woman’s death.
Arjun was taken into custody on Friday from his Jubilee Hills residence and brought to the Chikkadpally police station. While a local court initially remanded him to 14 days in judicial custody, the Telangana High Court later granted him interim bail.
What Rashmika Mandanna said about Allu Arjun's arrest
Rashmika Mandanna, who portrays Srivalli in the Pushpa series, took to X (formerly Twitter) to defend her co-star. She wrote:
“I can’t believe what I am seeing right now. The incident that happened was an unfortunate and deeply saddening incident.”
Mandanna further expressed her disappointment at Arjun being blamed for the tragedy, saying: “However, it is disheartening to see everything being blamed on a single individual. This situation is both unbelievable and heartbreaking.”
Pushpa 2 premiere stampede
The tragedy occurred on the night of December 4 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, where fans had gathered in massive numbers to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun during the screening of his latest blockbuster. The crowd surge led to a stampede, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old woman and the hospitalisation of her eight-year-old son.
The Hyderabad police have registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case was filed based on a complaint lodged by the family of the deceased woman.

He addressed the media and said, “We only went to Sandhya Theatre that day because my son wanted to watch the movie. It’s not Allu Arjun’s fault that he visited the theatre that day. I am ready to withdraw my case. Police didn’t inform me of his arrest; I saw it on the news while at the hospital. He (Arjun) has nothing to do with the stampede.”
