Priyanka Chopra Congratulates Vir Das For His Emmy Win, Sends Handwritten Note
Actor-comedian Vir Das expressed his gratitude to Priyanka Chopra in a social media post.
New Delhi: The International Emmy Awards of 2023 was delightful for Vir Das. It was a tie between the third season of the British comedy Derry Girls and the actor-stand-up comic's ‘Netflix special Vir Das: Landing’, which won Best Comedy. Superstars like Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, and Hrithik Roshan were among the many famous people who congratulated and commented on Vir Das' Instagram post after his victory. Now, a photo of the handwritten message that Priyanka Chopra delivered to Vir Das has been shared by Das.
After comedian-actor Vir Das brought glory to his nation with his victory, he took to Instagram to show off the touching present he got from Priyanka Chopra.
Vir Das posted a photo of the flowers and Priyanka Chopra's handwritten note on his social media on Thursday morning. The note reads: “Dear Vir, wishing you huge congratulations on your Emmy win! Such a well deserved and wonderful accomplishment! With love, Priyanka, Mary and your friends at Purple Pebble Pictures."

Priyanka started her film production company, Purple Pebble Pictures. Vir Das tweeted, "Thank you @priyankachopra for the flowers and for every door you’ve opened for the rest of us. You’re awesome!"
When asked about the comparisons to Priyanka Chopra earlier this year, Vir pondered on their US success and remarked, "I am nowhere even close to the level of Priyanka. Like Priyanka is the global Indian. I walk into a room, and there's like 'you're Indian, you like Priyanka Chopra, no?' So that is a thing now."
Vir Das's stand-up special, ‘Vir Das: Landing’, which explores the experience of being genuinely global while seeking a home, was honoured with the International Emmy Award.
Vir Das has appeared in several Hindi films, including ‘Badmaash Compan (2010), Delhi Belly (2011) and Go Goa Gone (2013).
