Filmmaker Karan Johar is courting controversy once again after his recent reference to the kitchen as 'ghusalkhana' ( bathroom) stirred social media. Several netizens complained that the filmmaker's language skills were poor, and Johar became a target of several memes and jokes. 

Karan Johar language blunder

Karan Johar was recently seen on Farah Khan's YouTube vlog, where he awkwardly confused Hindi words 'rasoi' (kitchen) and 'ghusalkhana'( bathroom). Although the episode was released last month, it has only caught everyone's attention now that the clip has resurfaced. 

 

Netizens reaction

The clip was also shared on Reddit, with the title, "Is Karan it intentionally or he really doesn't know??”. "He’s acting,” one comment read, with another reading, “Did he just call the kitchen, ghusul khanna”.

Someone also commented, "Probably he does things supposed to be done there at kitchen and vice versa. How does farah know what happens at his house?”

Many even felt that Karan was simply 'playing the part' while some thought it was not 'funny to equate kitchen with bathroom if it is a joke'.

Another user compared Karan to Kangana Ranaut and said, "This man had defame kangana ranaut for her English accent and Karan Johar even don't know what say to kitchen in Hindi."

A person wrote, “Showing that they don't know Hindi is a style statement for them. Such a shame he is”.

Karan Johar is currently busy with his next project 'Nadaaniyan' which will mark Saif Ali Khan's son Ibrahim Ali Khan's debut in showbiz. Ibrahim will be seen alongside Khushi Kapoor in the film, which will be released on Netflix.
