Mrunal Thakur On Losing Films As Her Parents Did Not Approve Of Intimate Scenes: 'How Long Could I Say No'
Mrunal Thakur revealed she had to reassure her parents about kissing scenes being integral to her profession.
New Delhi: Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur, celebrated for her captivating performances in both Hindi and South Indian cinema, recently opened up about a challenging aspect of her career journey. She candidly shared how she grappled with turning down film roles due to her discomfort with intimate scenes, a decision partly influenced by her parents.
Speaking to iDiva, Mrunal Thakur expressed her initial discomfort with romantic scenes and the challenges she faced in aligning her choices as an actor. The actress spoke out about the time she had to confront her parents about their strict rules. She shared, "I would simply get scared and say no to a film, but for how long could I say no?" she questioned. My parents and I had a serious talk at one point, and I told them, "Papa, I cannot miss a part because sometimes it's there, it's not my choice."
She recounted moments when she had to pass on roles due to kissing scenes. “As much as I wanted to do a film, I had to drop because there was a kissing scene involved. As an actor, you need to be ready because sometimes that’s the demand (of the scene). If you are not comfortable, you can tell, you can talk about it, but I kept missing out on films because of that,” the actress said.
