Mithun Chakraborty's First Wife Helena Luke Dies In USA, Her Last Post Reads, 'Feeling Weird, No Clue Why'
Mithun Chakraborty's first wife, Helena Luke, was known for her role in the 1985 film 'Mard' alongside Amitabh Bachchan.
New Delhi: Mithun Chakraborty's first wife, Helena Luke, tragically died on Sunday in the United States. Actress and dancer Kalpana Iyer broke the news on social media. Helena gained fame for her part in the Amitabh Bachchan-starring 1985 movie ‘Mard’. She and Mithun were married for hardly four months.
Helena Luke also worked for Delta Airlines and had lived in America for many years. On social media, she had been candid about her struggles with health, even writing about it in a post. Unfortunately, she passed away on November 3, 2024, without seeking medical help. The former actress reportedly had a long history of poor health and did not take her medicine when she was sick.
Helena spoke about her short marriage to Mithun in an open interview with Stardust Magazine, calling it a "hazy dream." She said she regretted the connection since Mithun had persuaded her that he was the one for her. She said, “I only wish it hadn’t happened, he was the one who brainwashed me into believing that he was the man for me, unfortunately, he succeeded."
She shared, “I really believed him when he told me that he loved me. But when I got to know him better, I realised that he loved no one but himself. He was extremely immature, and though I was years younger than him, I felt much older. He was very possessive and accused me of seeing my ex-boyfriend Javed on the sly. I used to go blue in the face trying to convince him that I didn’t, but couldn’t succeed in eradicating his deep-rooted suspicious nature. It was only later that I realised he had a guilt complex. He himself was fooling around my back and thought I was doing the same.”
Helena Luke’s Last Post
After Helena Luke's death, her last Facebook post has gone viral. She posted, "Feeling strange," on Sunday at 9:20 a.m. The actress wrote, “Feeling strange. Mixed emotions and no clue why. Discombobulated.” A number of her admirers have left comments on the page, praying for her soul and making assumptions about her emotions in the last hours before she passed away.
