New Delhi: Gadar 2, starring Sunny Deol, is doing well at the box office in India. The critically acclaimed and financially successful sequel from Anil Sharma. The film's soundtrack has also been well received, especially Mithoon's versions of two classic songs from the original movie. Uttam Singh, who scored the first Gadar, has since criticised the producers of the sequel for allegedly ripping off his work. The composer of 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', Uttam Singh, has now criticised the producers of the sequel for using his work.


The film Gadar's soundtrack and background were created by famous composer Uttam Singh. In ‘Gadar 2’, Mithoon reworked two of the film's most well-known songs: Udd Ja Kale Kaava and Main Nikla Gaddi. Uttam Singh responded to this in a recent interview.


Uttam Singh told Amar Ujala, “They didn’t call me for Gadar 2 and I don’t have the habit of calling and asking for work. They have used two of my songs in the film and I have also heard that they have used the background music that I composed. They should at least have the etiquette to ask me once and talk to me before using my songs in the film.”






‘Gadar 2’, which debuted on August 11, has been behind Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Pathaan’ as the highest-grossing film since the pandemic.  On its first day, the film earned a record-breaking Rs 40 crore, and it has since gone on to earn a total of Rs 420 crore at the domestic box office. Despite the film's lacklustre performance in international markets, it has earned more than Rs 500 crore globally.


Ameesha Patel returns as Sakina, while Utkarsh Sharma and Manish Wadhwa also have significant parts in the film with Sunny Deol.
