New Delhi: 'Shershaah' became Dharma Productions' second film to win a National Award. Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, the film was all heart and received a massive response upon release on Prime Video in 2021. ‘Shershaah’ was felicitated with the special jury award. As Sidharth penned a note to thank everyone, he also thanked Captain Vikram Batra's brother Vishal Batra, whose support was invaluable for the film. Vishal too congratulated Sidharth on his big win.


Sidharth Malhotra also shared his reaction to the big win. Taking to his official social media handle, Sidharth Malhotra wrote, "#Shershaah is a special film for me. I’m honoured and humbled as it becomes my first film to win a National Award. As fellow colleagues responded with congratulatory messages, Vishal Batra, brother of braveheart and Kargil war hero, Vishal Batra also commented on Sidharth's post with, "Humbled and many congratulations team Shershaah and entire crew….way to go Sid and Kiara… means so much 😍."


Meanwhile, Karan Johar whose production house Dharma backed 'Shershaah' also penned an emotional post for 'Shershaah'.


Taking to his official Instagram handle, Karan Johar wrote, "What an absolute honour! 'Shershaah' is based on the life of Vikram Batra, who was killed in action in the Kargil War. His actions played an important role and helped Indian troops on a crucial mission.


Directed by Vishnuvardhan, the film also starred Kiara Advani in the female lead who played the role of Vikram Batra's girlfriend Dimple Cheema.
