Kangana Ranaut Extends An Olive Branch To Karan Johar With A Film Offer? Says 'Will Not Be Just A PR...'
Kangana Ranaut expressed her interest in collaborating with Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, marking a surprising turn in their previously contentious relationship.
Actor-filmmaker Kangana Ranaut, who is busy promoting her upcoming film ‘Emergency’, recently made headlines with an unexpected gesture. Appearing on the singing reality show ‘Indian Idol’, the actor expressed her interest in collaborating with Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, marking a surprising turn in their previously contentious relationship.
Kangana Ranaut offers Karan Johar a film
During her appearance, Kangana said, “I’m sorry to say, but Karan sir should do a movie with me. I’ll give him a very good role, and I’ll make a very good film. It won’t be about a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law’s quarrel or just a PR exercise, it will be a proper film, and he’ll get a proper role.”
The comment sparked curiosity among fans and industry insiders alike, given the history of public differences between the two. Kangana’s offer to Karan, promising him a “meaty role,” adds an intriguing twist to their dynamic.
Emergency Faces CBFC Cuts
Kangana also addressed the recent CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) mandate requiring cuts to certain portions of 'Emergency'. Speaking to IANS, she expressed her disappointment about the original narrative being altered but ultimately accepted the board's decision.
“I would have liked the full version to come out. But with the cuts, there is no issue because the film isn’t meant to mock anyone. They removed some episodes of history, but the story and its message—patriotism—remain intact. It doesn’t affect the larger narrative,” she stated.
Set against the backdrop of the Emergency period in the 1970s, the film explores one of the most tumultuous chapters in Indian democracy during Indira Gandhi’s tenure as Prime Minister. Kangana, who also directed the film, promises an engaging and historically rich narrative that sheds light on this controversial era.
