New Delhi: Known to not mince her words, actor Kangana Ranaut took a dig at director Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s wife and known film critic Anupama Chopra. Vidhu’s directorial '12th Fail' recently completed 100 days in theatre and the cast and crew of the film celebrated the achievement.

During the celebration, the director shared that even his wife Anupama Chopra suggested him to release the film on OTT saying that no one would watch his film in theatre.

Sharing a screenshot of an article on Vidhu’s statement on X, Kangana wrote, "Vidhu sir’s wife @anupamachopra is a disgrace in the name of film journalist, she is not only xenophobic but also deeply jealous and insecure of younger and intelligent women, no wonder she is jealous of her own husband, on whose name and wealth she built her website and other small businesses, got her bollywood wife card to flaunt in filmi parties and ganged up with gossip gangs of Bollywood against genuine talent and good films."

Vidhu had said during the celebration, “When I was making the film, I was told by everyone, including my dearest wife (film critic Anupama Chopra), to put it out on OTT. She said, ‘Nobody will go to see Vinod! Teri aur Vikrant ki film!’ She told me I don’t know, that I’m not connected with movies (anymore). On top of this, these (trade) agencies were writing that it’ll open at Rs 2 lakhs and do a lifetime business of Rs 30 lakhs! Everyone scared me.”

Meanwhile, Anupama Chopra, who was also present at the celebration with her husband, took to X and posted a picture with him and wrote, “Celebrating 100 days of #12thFail in theatres! Even when it’s available on @DisneyPlusHS. Truly a testament to William Goldman’s famous line that in the movie business, nobody knows anything!”

12th Fail starring Vikrant Massey in the lead role, alongside Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee, collected Rs 67 cr worldwide.
