New Delhi: Police detained rapper Killer Mike from Sunday night's Grammy Awards in handcuffs. This happened hours after Mike won three awards for rap music at the prestigious music awards night. Los Angeles police didn't say anything about it, and two different press officers on duty claimed to be unaware of any developments in the case.


According to a video that went viral on social media, cops handcuffed Killer Mike and took him away from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. His fans were angry and confused when the videos went viral.






Killer Mike may come out later, according to an official, but the reason is still unknown. The rapper was reportedly engaged in a "physical altercation" inside the premises of the award show, as per several media outlets.


Harvey Mason Jr., the chief of the Grammys, was seen talking to Killer Mike's team and on-site officials. However, neither the Recording Academy nor Killer Mike's representatives. have made an official comment on the viral incident.


According to the Hollywood Reporter, a venue security officer said that Killer Mike was arrested for a misdemeanour charge that had nothing to do with the Grammy Awards.


Killer Mike and his collaborators won the Grammy for ‘Michael’ and 'Scientists and Engineers' in the categories: Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.


Killer Mike, whose real name is Michael Render, is also known for speaking out against racism and police abuse. The rapper talked about many other social and political problems, like economic inequality, schooling and more. 


Meanwhile, Zakir Hussain made India proud at the 2024 Grammys. In the Best Global Music Album category, the legendary duo of Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain's fusion band 'shakti' took home the award for their album "This Moment."
