Kalki Koechlin Deletes X Amid Israel-Palestine Conflict; Netizens React

Justifying her reason to do the same, Kalki said it is the hate and misinformation amid the conflict in the Middle East on social media that made her do it.

New Delhi: The Israel-Hamas war has created quite a storm of hatred and brutal trolling on social media platforms like X. Several celebrities from Hollywood and across the world have commented on it. Many have become targets of massive trolling for sharing their views on the conflict on social media. On the home front, actor Kalki Koechlin shared a screenshot of herself as she was about to delete X.

Justifying her reason to do the same, Kalki said it is the hate and misinformation amid the conflict in the Middle East on social media that made her do it.

Taking to her Instagram handle, the 'Dev D' actor wrote, "Had to do this today. The hate and disinformation, the doom scrolling, the helplessness. But what really crossed the line for me, what really made me draw a boundary was the denial or the justification of Palestinian children murdered in the thousands or the denial or glorification of Israeli women being raped, tortured and murdered, I have had enough.”

Kalki also shared with her followers some other platforms to use and also put to use some hashtags related to the Palestine-Israel crisis.

Praising Kalki's decision, actor Sayani Gupta commented, "Oh man. Absolutely. There’s no nuance anymore! No sense of what’s just. It’s all about polarisation. This or that. Choose a side and hate on the other. Also, I had gotten off Twitter maybe almost two years ago. Best cleanse ever!”

Soon after Kalki shared the news on Instagram, a user wrote in the comments section, "Thank you for being one of the only few Bollywood celebrities for speaking out for the cause of Palestine. The deafening silence from the rest who have massive influence and reach is sickening.” Another comment read, “Good to see that someone from the Indian industry has some nerves to speak the truth. Love you for this."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kalki was seen in 'Goldfish' with Deepti Naval.
