Harshdeep Kaur, who sang Virat Kohli and Anushka Kohli's wedding song, recently shared her experience creating this special track.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's 2017 wedding set new benchmarks for celebrity nuptials, inspiring trends that continue to influence high-profile weddings today. From Anushka’s pastel lehenga to their dreamy wedding visuals, their union remains iconic. On their first anniversary, the couple shared a heartwarming video featuring their wedding song, Peer Vi Tu, sung by Harshdeep Kaur. Recently, the celebrated singer shared her experience creating this special track.

"Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli see god in each other"

In an interview on The Music Podcast, Harshdeep shared the process of recording the soulful melody that perfectly encapsulated Virat and Anushka’s bond. She explained how director Vishal Punjabi briefed her about the song's intent. “I was part of their wedding song Peer Vi Tu that was released on their anniversary. I got the brief that it is a love song and that the song’s lyrics reflect what Virat and Anushka feel for each other — that they see god in each other. Vishal said, ‘Bus yahi feeling chahiye (I want this feeling). Just feel these words and sing,’” Harshdeep recalled.

Harshdeep Kaur has established herself as one of Bollywood's most sought-after singers, delivering hits like Zaalima (Raees), Ik Onkar (Rang De Basanti), and Dilbaro (Raazi). Beyond playback singing, she has become a popular choice for Bollywood celebrities’ wedding performances.
