New Delhi: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde of Maharashtra expressed his concern for star Govinda's well-being. Actor-turned-politician Govinda sustained leg injuries after a gunshot incident on Tuesday (October 1). The incident happened as he was getting ready to leave for Kolkata, and he was sent to the hospital for treatment right away.


The chief minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, wasted no time in getting in touch with Govinda to check on his well-being. He sent his best wishes to the actor for a "speedy recovery". Speaking on behalf of the state government and the people, the chief minister's office issued a statement. “I wished him a speedy and complete recovery and a healthy life on behalf of the state government and the public. Govinda and his family have been assured of all necessary help during this difficult time. Our best wishes and prayers are with them and their loved ones,” the statement read.


For the universe, Govinda became a member of the Shiv Sena, which is run by Eknath Shinde in March this year, a month before the Lok Sabha elections.

Reacting to Govinda’s news, Arshad Warsi said,  "Unfortunate hai… I mean very unfortunate aisa hona nahi chahiye. I mean we all feel very bad actually. We were talking about this outside ke I said yaar ye to bahut hi unfortunate hai and I don’t know ajeeb sa ittefaq hai ye (It’s a weird coincidence) shouldn’t have happened," during the trailer premiere of Bandaa Singh Chaudhary.


Speaking to media, Arbaaz Khan added, "What Arshad says is absolutely right ke bahut hi unfortunate incident hai.


Govinda's Health Update


According to Govinda's brother Kirti Kumar, the actor underwent surgery and is recovering well. Soon after the surgery, Govinda himself sent an audio message to his supporters assuring them that he was doing good after surgery.
