Ameesha Patel Shares How Her Relationship With Vikram Bhatt Affected Her Career: 'It Took A Beating On My Career'

Ameesha Patel, who is gearing up for the release of her film Gadar 2, has opened up about her relationship with Vikram Bhatt. She also said that her relationship with Vikram Bhatt affected her career.

New Delhi: Ameesha Patel, who is gearing up for the release of her film Gadar 2, has opened up about her relationship with Vikram Bhatt and Kanav Puri, and why she chose to be single after these two relationships. She also said that her relationship with Vikram Bhatt affected her career. 

In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha spoke about her two relationships and how being open about it adversely affected her career. "In this industry, honesty is not welcome, and I am someone who is very honest. I am someone, who wears my heart on my sleeves. I think that has been the biggest drawback for me in my life. And definitely, the only two relationships that I ever had in public, the only two I ever had, they did take a beating on my career. For 12-13 years, I was like, 'No men. Only peace. I want nothing else in my life',” she told Bollywood Hungama. 

The actor added, "Because the single status of a girl is always more attractive to the people that you work around. It's always more attractive for your audiences. And they feel if you're single or you're dating someone in the industry or a superstar, that only benefits your career. Otherwise, they don't accept it. See, a heroine dating a hero can still do films with the hero and continue getting work. For me, that was not the case. So,  

Ameesha Patel started dating Vikram Bhatt reportedly after working with him on ‘Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage’. After her relationship with the filmmaker ended, she dated London-based businessman Kanav Puri. The two parted ways in 2010.

Ameesha will take forward her role of Shakeena in 'Gadar 2'. Talking about the film Ameesha said in a statement: "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' was re-released on my birthday and my biggest gift was the love we received from our fans. We felt how strongly the film has been engraved in the hearts of the audiences. The teaser of 'Gadar 2' starts a new chapter in the story of Tara and Sakeena and we truly hope we fulfil the expectations of our fans, once again."
