New Delhi: Actor and Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’, opened up about filming a particular scene in the film. The singer shared details about the emotional experience of filming the Punjabi folk singer’s death scene.

In a podcast hosted by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Diljit was asked if he sensed Chamkila's energy on set. Diljit responded, "Hundred percent, I could feel it."  


He then shared in Hindi, "We shot exactly at the place where Chamkila was killed. Imtiaz Sir shot exactly at the same place where he fell after being killed. While shooting the scene, As I fell, Tumbi (musical instrument) was in my hand, and its string struck my finger. While I was falling, I could see my hand and the blood falling on the floor. I could sense this is the exact spot where Chamkila’s blood was spilled.” 






Diljit on performing at the Coachella Music Festival
The actor also spoke about his history-making debut at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Calling it a God’s will, he said, “Although I wasn't a deserving candidate. I feel so. It was God's will. I knew it (Coachella) was big and for the first time, someone from India was going to perform there. It was a huge deal,” Diljit said in the podcast 




“I feel like I'm not that great a musician, but I end up getting good opportunities. I haven't learnt acting from anywhere, yet I'm working with Imtiaz Ali. I had never imagined I'd do a film with him. Maybe it happened because of Chamkila. He gave me that chance. Imtiaz Ali signing Diljit Dosanjh isn't necessary. There are so many others whom he can hire,” Diljit added.
